On September 12, 2017 I entered rocky mountain national park to hike. After hiking 4 miles, the usual afternoon storms started to roll in but I still didn’t have the shot that I was hoping for, & I hadn’t seen any wildlife all day. I’d met 2 people on the trail who warned me to leave before the lightning arrived. As this was my last day in the park, I decided to risk the weather and scramble 500′ up the closest mountain to see if there were any photo-worthy snow-fed lakes. I found this instead.
